The core of the Application involves processing financial records you provide, including:

Manually entered expense records: amount, merchant, category, date, and any notes you add.

Receipt images you upload and the data extracted from them by our OCR system

Transaction data imported via bank account integration.

We do not collect your bank login credentials; authentication is handled by our regulated open-banking provider.

We automatically collect certain technical data when you use the Application, such as;

Device type and operating system version

App version and IP address

Session logs and feature usage patterns

Crash reports.

This data is used solely for security, performance monitoring, and improving the Application.

We process your personal data on the following legal bases and for the following purposes:

To create and manage your account; to provide expense tracking, receipt scanning, bank integration, and AI insight features; and to respond to your support requests.

To monitor and improve the security, performance, and reliability of the Application.

To comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, or lawful requests from competent authorities.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

Finclar does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial gain, marketing purposes, or any other reason.

We share limited personal data with carefully selected third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Application. These include:

Cloud infrastructure providers for secure data hosting and storage

Open-banking / financial data aggregation providers for bank account integration, on a read-only basis

OCR and AI processing providers for receipt scanning and insight generation.

All service providers are bound by contractual data processing agreements that restrict their use of your data to performing services on our behalf and require them to maintain appropriate security standards

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements

We implement and maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction

You have the right to:

To request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

To request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations.

Where processing is based on your consent, to withdraw that consent at any time.

The Application is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a person under 18, we will promptly delete that information and terminate the associated account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices, legal obligations, or the Application’s features.

Where changes are material, we will notify you through the app and your continued use of the Application after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
